About PlanetTrotter Foundation
The purpose, structure and people behind the Foundation: what it is, why it exists and how it intends to work.
Who we are
Planet Trotter Foundation is a Section 8 company incorporated under the Companies Act, 2013. We are established to pursue environmental conservation and social impact, rooted in India with projects intended to expand worldwide.
Our objects are deliberately broad. They span conservation, responsible tourism, community development, education, livelihoods, agriculture, health, infrastructure, youth, sports, research and sustainable technology. What unifies them is practical: in India, conservation holds only where the communities nearby benefit from it. You can read each area in detail on Our Focus, and follow how they become real work on the Programmes page.
Vision
A future where India's ecosystems and communities thrive together.
We envision responsible exploration and conservation working hand in hand, protecting nature while creating dignified opportunity for people.
Mission
To design, deliver and openly measure programmes across conservation, communities and knowledge.
Programmes will be built with partners across our eight areas of work. Outcomes will be published, including the ones that fall short.
How we work
Communities are partners, not beneficiaries.
Conservation and livelihoods are planned together, never traded off.
Exploration should leave a place better documented and better protected.
Research and results are published openly.
Ambition is stated as intent until it is verified.
Section 8 status
Incorporated for purpose, not profit.
Planet Trotter Foundation is a non-profit organization registered in India under the Companies Act, 2013. The foundation is focused on social, environmental, and community development activities.
Our formal registration documents will be published on our Transparency page as they become available.
