Based in India · Working Globally
For a planet worthexploring.And protecting.
Empowering Communities. Conserving Nature. Creating Sustainable Impact.
Conservation, responsible travel and community development, carried out as one body of work rather than three separate causes.
Who we are
Most environmental problems are treated separately from the people who live inside them. Forests are protected against villages, tourism is planned without its hosts, and farming is left out of conservation altogether.
The Foundation exists to close that gap. Where a river is restored, the farms along it should prosper. Where travellers walk, their money should stay in the valley that hosts them. Every programme we design starts from that exchange.
About the Foundation
Planet Trotter Wildlife Filmmaking Challenge
The Last Horizon
A Wildlife Filmmaking Challenge: ten photographs and a 30-second wildlife video open the door to selection. The Foundation jury picks six participants who join the field team as one unit to make one documentary across Kaziranga and Tanzania.
Areas of work
Conservation sits beside livelihoods here, education beside agriculture. Choose an area to see what it covers and where it is heading.
Our work

This approach was first tested in the villages of Uttarakhand, where travel income brought solar power, bee farming and new reasons to stay. It now reaches the Serengeti through our flagship expedition, and it will go wherever a community invites it.
Responsible tourism
Travel in India can fund conservation, sustain living heritage and keep income in the villages that host it. Our responsible tourism work is built on that premise.

Respect Nature
Exploration that protects, never depletes, the ecosystems it enters.
Respect Communities
Local people are partners in tourism, not a backdrop to it.
Preserve Culture
Heritage, tradition and identity carried forward with dignity.
Create Responsible Opportunity
Economic value that stays in the places that create it.
Our approach
The framework we will use to design and deliver programmes: grounded in local needs, built with partners, measured honestly.
Understand
Identify ecological and community needs.
Design
Develop locally relevant approaches.
Collaborate
Work with communities, experts and institutions.
Implement
Deliver responsible programmes.
Measure
Document outcomes and learning.
Scale
Expand what the evidence supports.
Partnerships
Every programme will be built with partners: the people who know the land, the institutions that study it and the organisations that fund it. If that includes you, this form reaches us directly.

Impact
Every figure we publish carries its date, its location, its programme and its source. Old work stays historical; nothing is presented as current unless it is.

First computer access in nine years. Valley of River, Uttarakhand. Documented field intervention.
