To run a fair Wildlife Filmmaking Challenge, have the Foundation jury select six participants, and produce one collaborative wildlife documentary filmed across Kaziranga National Park and Tanzania.
Applicants enter the Wildlife Filmmaking Challenge with ten wildlife photographs and a 30-second wildlife video. The Foundation jury reviews every entry, with public engagement as one input, and selects six participants. Those six travel together, first to Kaziranga National Park for story development and field preparation, then on to Tanzania to film across Ndutu Plains, Serengeti National Park and Ruaha National Park, working as one team to produce one wildlife documentary.
The Last Horizon is a Planet Trotter Foundation wildlife filmmaking and documentary project built around the Wildlife Filmmaking Challenge. Applicants submit ten wildlife photographs and one 30-second wildlife video, in the Mobile or DSLR/Mirrorless category. Public likes, comments and shares are one input into selection, alongside review by the Foundation jury, which selects six participants. The six work together as one team to make one wildlife documentary, filmed across Kaziranga National Park in India and Ndutu Plains, Serengeti National Park and Ruaha National Park in Tanzania.
